From Farm Fields to Founder: The Story Behind The Bright Side Group
Hola, friends. I’m Noemi.
And before I was a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, a consultant, or a founder…
I was a kid in Sunnyside, Washington.
Up before sunrise.
Packing into the truck.
Spending summers in apple orchards and cherry fields.
My parents were farmworkers. Hardworking. Relentless. Proud.
They taught me two things that shaped my life:
Work hard.
Ask for what you want.
I didn’t know it then, but those lessons would become the foundation of everything I build today.
The Girl Who Was “Least Likely to Succeed”
At 17, I became a mom.
And somewhere along the way, I was labeled “least likely to succeed.”
That could have been the end of the story.
Instead, it became the ignition point.
Because I’ve always believed something deeply:
Your starting point does not determine your ceiling.
Learning How Systems Really Work
My professional career didn’t begin in consulting.
It started in retail.
Then I took a state job as an Office Assistant — the person everyone came to with questions.
And I loved that.
I loved figuring things out.
I loved fixing what wasn’t working.
I loved helping people feel less overwhelmed.
But I also saw something frustrating:
Brilliant people stuck inside broken systems.
Processes that drained energy.
Meetings that went nowhere.
Improvement efforts that fizzled out because no one was taught how to actually improve.
That’s when I discovered Lean Six Sigma.
Not as a buzzword. Not as corporate jargon.
But as clarity.
Lean Six Sigma Became Personal
For me, Lean Six Sigma wasn’t just a methodology.
It was structure.
It was fairness.
It was a way to make complexity make sense.
As a Latina navigating professional spaces that weren’t designed with me in mind, I learned how powerful clarity can be.
When tools are accessible, people rise.
When learning is engaging, confidence builds.
When systems improve, people breathe again.
That belief shaped everything.
Why I Built The Bright Side Group
After more than 16 years in public service, retail, healthcare, and consulting — after leading hundreds of workshops and training hundreds of professionals — I saw a gap.
Organizations wanted improvement.
But training felt dry.
Overwhelming.
Disconnected from real life.
People were told to “embrace change” without being given tools.
So I built something different.
The Bright Side Group was created to:
• Make Lean Six Sigma accessible
• Remove the intimidation from data-driven tools
• Build real internal capability
• Support women and Latinas stepping into leadership
• Bring humanity back into performance improvement
Because tools alone don’t create change.
People do.
What I’m Known For
Making complex things feel simple.
Creating learning environments that are engaging (yes, even fun).
Helping teams move from spinning their wheels to making real progress.
Building confidence in people who didn’t think they were “data people.”
Today, I’m a:
Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
PMP® Certified Project Professional
Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner
Founder & Principal Consultant
But titles are secondary.
What matters most is this:
I help organizations perform better while helping individuals believe bigger.
The Work Is Strategic. The Heart Is Personal.
I live in Olympia, Washington with my husband, our kids, and a whole crew of pets (two cats and a dog).
I’m also a Mimi. Becoming a grandmother is one of my greatest joys.
Every chapter of my life — teen mom, public servant, consultant, founder — informs how I lead today:
Calm.
Clear.
Grounded.
Human.
If You’re Here…
Maybe you’re:
• A leader trying to build internal capability
• A professional wanting to grow your skills
• An organization ready to stop outsourcing every improvement effort
• A woman who wants data-driven tools without losing her voice
You’re in the right place.
The power to lead change already lives in you.
You just need the tools and support to activate it.
That’s what we do here.
There Is Always a Brighter Way Forward
The Bright Side isn’t about positivity for positivity’s sake.
It’s about believing that improvement is possible.
That systems can work better.
That people can grow into leadership.
That learning can be practical and empowering.
And that no matter where you started…
You get to build what’s next.
¡Vamos!
Let’s get to work.
